You Want Me to What?
I have always been a good writer. I skated through writing classes and helped my friends write papers in high school and college. I write when I have to. So when "someone" told me I should be blogging, I was a little shocked. Isn't blogging for, well, bloggers? I am not a blogger. I am a wife, a mother, a business owner; trying to juggle everything. I do alright.
Social media is it. It controls almost everything these days. Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram...I do all of that. But blogging? That is something new to me. Yet, here I am, doing it.
How about I tell you a little about me.
I started Chip Magnet Salsa out of the kitchen of my house. For a little spending money. I was suffering from "stay-at-home mom syndrome". You know, where your husband wants you to account for every red cent that has come out of the bank account because, even though you work every bit as hard as he does, you really don't earn any money. I wanted some money of my own. I started out selling at outdoor markets and other festivals. After a year, I was licensed. My husband joined me in acquiring retail stores. I knew nothing of selling and he is a salesman extraordinnaire.
Today we are in over 170 stores throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa. Many people have joined our team and helped us along the way. It is no longer just the two of us.
Sauce Appeal came along a full four years later when I got the crazy notion to make hot sauces. Within the next 90 days, we will be rolling out two hot sauces, a red and a green, along with five bbq sauces. All GMO-free and all absolutely delicious.
In my spare time, I love to knit, watch baseball (I am a rabid Cubs fan, and yes, this is their year), cook for the family, hang with my kiddies (14, 10, 7), enjoy date nights with my hubby (always home by 10pm), and work on being a better person and keeping a positive attitude. That last one is not always easy, but neither is being a Cubs fan, so I am used to it.
I don't start any day without coffee, I have not missed a Cub game yet this year, and I firmly believe that Snoopy is the perfect man.
