Ye Haw!

Ye Haw!

We got to attend and vend at Country Fest 2017 this past weekend.

I have never really liked country music, however, I have always loved Keith Urban. When the chance to see him presented itself last November, I jumped at it. Granted, I had to bug the shit out of a good friend to get me the tickets, but, hey. Brett Eldredge opened for Keith, and Finley (daughter, almost 11) and I fell in love with him, too. So, now we are both LIVE country freaks. It goes unsaid that when we found out that we were gonna get to see Blake Shelton, AND Dan + Shay, well, our heads almost exploded.

We secured a meet and greet with Blake Shelton, but only one. Finley was a little nervous. I mean, he's this huge star. But she did it. She got his autograph and a picture with him. An experience she will never forget, I am sure.

We were lucky to get two meet and greets for Dan + Shay. Finley, I think, was even more excited about meeting them. She and her bestie, Wendy (her name is really Lindey, but we all call her Wendy), share a deep love for Dan + Shay. When they came out of that meet and greet, Wendy's face said it all. She was on a high like no other. As a mom, I loved watching it.

Next up this summer is Rock Fest. Not my scene. AT ALL. However, my girl, Paula, loves that stuff. So, she gets to attend and vend and meet and greet and all that fun stuff. And I am going to meme the hell out of those meet and greet pictures.

And then there is Country Jam. This is the big one, folks. This is where BRETT ELDREDGE is going to be, hence, where Finley and I will be. Whatever we need to do to get that meet and greet. Nothing is out of the question.

People watching. Drunk people almost falling into our table. Funnel cakes. Corn dogs. Rain storms. Mud. Wind. Dust. Cheese curds.

This is so much fun.

But I have never once lost perspective. Have Jim and I worked hard? Yes. But it was Divine Intervention, The Universe, or luck, as some would call it, that all of this happened. And I am beyond grateful.

Best. Summer. Ever.
